失去了手臂之后，他写了一本名为《生死两难》的书。它的意思是“处于一个你似乎无法摆脱的困境之中”。在这本书中，阿伦告诉我们，最重要的是做一个正确的决定，和控制自己的生命。他对爬山的爱很强烈，以至于那次经历后他还坚持在爬山。
