我爷爷今年74岁了，但他十分喜欢看书，一看书就把周围的一切都放在一旁不管了，用他的话来说，这是“活到老学到老”。但这“活到老学到老”的精神有时也会闹一些小笑话。

那天，爸爸妈妈都出去了，奶奶也去朋友家做客，只有我和爷爷在家。上午，我在做作业，爷爷则捧着一本书在看。做着做着，我的肚子饿了，一看钟，都12点多了，爷爷怎么还不做饭呢？我蹑手蹑脚地来到客厅，只见爷爷坐在沙发上，戴着老花镜，专心致志地在看书，他的眼睛紧紧地盯着书本生怕漏掉什么重要语句。他一手捧着书，一手拿着一支铅笔，时不时地在本子上记着些什么。过了很长时间，才小心翼翼地往后翻了一页，看着他专注的神情，仿佛沉浸在知识的海洋中，周围的一切似乎都与他无关。客厅里静极了，静得连一根针掉在地上都听得见，我都能听见自己的呼吸声。要不是我肚子饿了，我可不忍心打破这和谐的场景：“爷爷，我肚子饿了！”我一连叫了好几声，爷爷才听见。他如梦初醒般地抬起了头，看看墙上的钟，若用所思地说：“这不是等你奶奶……”突然，他好像想起了什么，“呀，她不是不回来吃饭了吗!唉，要自己做饭了。”说罢，爷爷极不情愿地放下书，站了起来，舒活舒活筋骨，然后向厨房走去，嘴里还在嘀咕：“我这书刚看到一半……”他又想起了什么，一拍脑袋，大叫一声：“呀！忘买菜了。中午只好吃方便面了。”爷爷很快泡好了两碗方便面，一边吃，一边心满意足地看起了书，自己那碗方便面没放调料也不知道。看着爷爷这副模样，我不禁笑了。

有一次，我问爷爷：“您这么大岁数了，天天这么认真看书，累不累？学这些东西有什么用啊？”爷爷乐呵呵地说：“孩子，我问你，爷爷能登喜马拉雅山吗？不能。能周游世界吗？不能。只有通过书，我才能了解这个世界呀！”是啊！爷爷说得真好，这不是人们常说的“活到老学到老”。

Learning is one of the most important things in one’s life,especially for children being educated in schools of different levels.They learn languages,mathematics,history,geography and so on.They must know that they should acquire as much knowledge as possible,which can help them know better about the outside world and develop themselves for their future career.

As for grown ups,even the aged,learning is important as well.Although they have studied something for many years,and have learned a lot already,there are still some experiences and laws summed up or discovered by our predecessors for them to learn.Moreover,the world keeps changing unceasingly.There is always something new for them to learn.Thus,they must be aware that they should stick to learning throughout their lives.Constant learning can make people become more learned and experienced so that they can suit the changing world better.

In short,the proverb “It is never too old to learn.” is true of everyone.Let us start and keep learning.
